Dayco serpentine belt kits designed for quicker installation

Dayco’s new line of heavy-duty serpentine belt kits feature a two-piece tensioner designed to reduce installation time.

The kits are specifically designed for Detroit DD13, DD15, and DD16 engines, covering about 650,000 vehicles on the road. They also include two pulleys and two serpentine belts in the appropriate lengths and widths.

Replacing all parts in a front-end accessory drive system at the same time will enhance vehicle performance and service life, the company says.

The tensioner and related pulley are machined from high-strength steel, and also feature a patented flat spring and dual pressed-in pulley bearings to help extend bearing life and protect against shock loads.

Two heavy-duty poly-V serpentine belts included in the kits are designed to run cooler, reduce rib cracking, and increase flexibility, Dayco adds.
