J. J. Keller & Associates Inc. has expanded its Encompass Fleet Safety & Compliance Platform with a new asset tracking product aimed at improving visibility into trailers, equipment and other mobile assets.

The new offering is built around the company’s AT100 tracking device, a rugged, weather-resistant unit designed for long-term deployment across a range of operating environments. It delivers motion-based GPS updates and offers a battery life of up to eight years, reducing maintenance requirements.

“For many fleets, knowing where vehicles are is only part of the picture because it’s the equipment and assets around them that can be hardest to manage,” said Jason Hartwig, associate director of product management at J. J. Keller. “Our new asset tracking solution helps customers maintain visibility into those assets.”

The system is fully integrated into the Encompass platform, allowing fleets to monitor asset locations on a map, review historical movement and manage multiple devices within a single interface. Users can also configure reporting intervals and tracking behavior based on how assets are used.

J. J. Keller said the solution is designed for assets that may sit idle between jobs or operate outside traditional over-the-road applications, such as trailers, dumpsters and jobsite equipment.

The company added that the asset tracking tool can be paired with its recently introduced vehicle telematics solution, giving fleets a unified view of both powered and non-powered equipment.

“By pairing asset and vehicle visibility with the robust compliance features within Encompass, we’re helping customers manage their operations and compliance in one place,” Hartwig said.
