Mack mDrive now comes with left and right dual PTO

Mack Trucks’ mDrive automated manual transmission (AMT) now features a left and right dual power takeoff (PTO) option for highway and vocational customers.

Available in Mack Granite, Anthem and Pinnacle models with 12-, 13- and 14-speed mDrives, the new option offers cleaner routing to frame- and body-mounted equipment, the OEM says. It also allows drivers to run hydraulic pump equipment on both sides of the vehicle.

The dual PTO is available with clutched adaptors with DIN-mounted or SAE flange connections. Both dual PTO ports also rotate counter-clockwise, while the adapters are interchangeable and can be adjusted in the field.

Related dash switches work independently through an air solenoid, so there’s no need for both PTOs to run if only one is needed.

The PTO comes with up to two direct-mount factory-installed hydraulic pumps or can be equipped with retrofit options.
