MIDDLEWEIGHT FIGHTER

The Mack Granite Medium Heavy Duty (MHD) offers a lower-cost, lighter-weight vocational option without sacrificing durability or reliability, the company says.

In the axle-forward model pictured here, key features are the Cornerstone frame, unique sleeved D-shaped fuel tank, and 8-cubic-yard concrete mixer body.

Standard engine is the Cummins ISL9 generating 345 hp with a maximum torque rating of 1150 lb ft. Both Eaton Fuller manual and Allison automatic transmissions are available.

While Mack says the 16,000-lb steer axle is best suited for the Granite MHD, four other options are available (12,000, 14,600, 18,000 and 20,000 lb).

A new 7-mm frame rail thickness is offered, said to be "ideal" for the Granite MHD, but the Cornerstone chassis also offers three other thicknesses (8, 9.5 and 11.1 mm).
