Paccar TX-12 available in medium-duty Peterbilts
Peterbilt now offers the Paccar TX-12 automated transmission paired with the Paccar PX-9 engine for the medium-duty Models 548, 537 and 536.
The Paccar TX-12 and TX-12 Pro are fully integrated with the PX-9, the company says.
“Together, the TX-12 transmissions and PX-9 engine, create an exceptional combination of efficiency and reliability,” said Jake Montero, assistant general manager, sales and marketing for Peterbilt. “Our medium-duty customers can spec’ confidently knowing this new powertrain configuration delivers increased productivity and an excellent driving experience.”
The transmission features lightweight construction and operates up to 1,250 lb.-ft. of torque handling a GCWR of 66,000 lb. The like-rated Pro version is designed for more rugged applications such as snowplow, crane, bucket/boom and others.
