Rotella oil formula supports natural gas and more

Shell Rotella’s T4 NG Plus 15W-40 engine oil has been formulated to protect mobile natural gas engines as well as diesel and gasoline power units.

Spark-ignited natural gas engines tend to run hotter than diesel engines, but this oil promises to manage the high heats.

The balance of detergents and dispersancy is meant to keep pistons and engines clean, while other additives control the deposits in combustion chambers to help prolong valve and spark plug life.

Low ash formulas, meanwhile, protect exhaust catalysts and particulate filters.

The formula meets specifications including API CK-4, API SN ,Cummins CES 20092 (replacing CES 20085, which becomes obsolete Dec. 31), Cummins CES 20086, Detroit Diesel DFS 93K222, Mack EO-S 4.5, and Volvo VDS-4.5.
