Ryder System harnesses data with RyderShare

by Today's Trucking

Ryder System has unveiled a new logistics platform known as RyderShare, helping shippers, receivers, carriers and service providers to work together in real time.

Using Turvo’s cloud-based system, it integrates data from multiple transportation and management systems into a single platform. Exclusive content from FTR — in the form of data insights, trends and forecasts – is also included.

RyderShare has already been rolled out for 18 customers at 90 locations, and identified several gains. Customers that rely heavily on service call centers have seen productivity rise 50% because of the drop in emails and phone calls, Ryder System says. There has also been a 35% boost to labor efficiency because of the ability to more effectively plan for receiving dock labor.

One customer saw on-time performance rise to 99%, up from 95%.
