Sentinelle Card offers discreet tracking for fleet safety
Quebec-based startup Sentinelle Card has introduced a discreet, GPS-independent tracking device the size of a credit card to boost fleet security.
The device works without a SIM card or cellular network, according to a news release. The card transmits a low-power Bluetooth signal, undetectable by GPS jammers. Nearby Apple and Android smartphones pick up the signal and anonymously relay the position via their respective networks. The owner can retrieve the precise vehicle or trailer location through Apple Find My or a dedicated Android app.

“When GPS goes dark, fleet managers are left in the dark too. We created a backup tracking system that still works under those conditions,” Jonathan Carmouze, founder and CEO of Sentinelle Card, said in the release.
There is no monthly subscription, and the device has a two-year battery life. It can also be integrated with third-party telematics systems, the company said.
