Tailwind Software Light

Vancouver’s Tailwind Transportation Software has released a lighter version of Tailwind EXpress+ to better meet the needs of small carriers and freight brokers. EXpress, the lighter product, meets basic operation and accounting needs.

Tailwind EXpress is designed to get small outfits into the business quickly and efficiently, the company says. “For the price of a cup of coffee a day,” it adds, it gives such companies a launch pad for their business by providing an alternative to manual tracking.

While being cost-competitive, it’s said to retain good functionality. Its features include sales CRM, quoting system, customer and carrier rate history, sales commission systems, full orders and dispatch system, quick templates for orders/quotes/bills, shipment tracking, etc.

Accounting features cover invoicing, accounts receivable, collections systems, billing, accounts payable, proof of delivery and payment systems, customizable accounting and charge types.

In comparison, EXpress+ is aimed at companies adding a slate of new trucks to their operation or making the move to a full operating business with salespeople, dedicated dispatchers, and administrators.

Its use of cloud technology makes it accessible from desktops, laptops, tablets, and cell phones.  The only requirement to use Tailwind EXpress or EXpress+ is access to an internet browser.
