Telematics for legacy Volvos

Legacy Volvo trucks that are equipped with EPA 2010-or-newer Volvo engines will soon be able to leverage the power of telematics through a new partnership with Geotab.

The connections can be made through a plug-in Geotab telematics device and by activating a subscription for predictive diagnostics. The underlying data will be monitored by Volvo’s Uptime Center. If its agents detect an issue, they will assess the severity of the problem and reach out to designated contacts.

The service process will be documented and tracked through Volvo’s ASIST online service management and communications platform that offers a real-time view of case status, repair schedules, and the availability of parts and service bays.

Truck owners can sign up for the service beginning May 1.
