Toyo Tire Canada launches M177+ longhaul steer tire
Toyo Tire Canada has introduced the M177+, a longhaul steer tire designed to improve wear life and retreadability.
The M177+ will be produced in 22.5- and 24.5-inch wheel diameters and it builds on the previous M177 model and features a new decoupling groove design aimed at reducing irregular wear and extending tread life. Toyo said the tire uses its cap compound and deep tread design to combine fuel efficiency with long, even wear.
The tire also incorporates Toyo’s e-balance technology, which the company said enhances casing durability and retreadability to deliver increased removal miles in longhaul applications.
The M177+ features a five-rib, four-groove tread design intended to evacuate water and maintain traction.
Deep sipes and multi-pitch grooves are designed to improve wet and dry traction while reducing road noise. Differential ribs in each groove are used to limit tread profile growth and help maintain a flatter, uniform tread radius throughout the life of the casing.
A high-elongation top belt has been added to protect casing integrity and support maximum retreadability, Toyo said.
