Trucker Path adds real-time DOT 511 traffic updates
Trucker Path has integrated the DOT 511 Traffic Network into its app, providing professional drivers with live traffic, construction, and crash information across the U.S. The addition enhances navigation capabilities, giving truckers access to real-time road conditions and alternative route options.
“With the addition of DOT 511 feeds to the Trucker Path app, our live mapping is just as strong, if not stronger, than popular consumer apps that don’t provide truck-specific navigation,” said Chris Oliver, chief marketing officer at Trucker Path, in a news release.
“The DOT 511 feeds users not only know what lies ahead but also have the option of selecting alternate routes.”
DOT 511 is a nationwide U.S. service that provides real-time information about travel conditions, road closures and restrictions, weather-related closures, crashes and construction.
The company says this integration builds on Trucker Path’s existing safety and efficiency-focused features, which include real-time parking availability, multi-stop trip planning, a bridge height and restricted road prevention system, weigh station insights, hours-of-service planning, and more.
