Trucker Tools has introduced its fraud toolkit, a suite of advanced fraud detection features designed to help freight brokers combat the increasing sophistication of fraudulent activities in the freight industry. The toolkit runs in the background and alerts users only when potential threats are identified.

“Double brokering alone claims $500 million – $700 million from carriers and brokers annually. Our fraud identification tools help our customers combat this,” Kary Jablonski, chief executive officer of Trucker Tools, in a news release.

Key features of the fraud toolkit include International IP activity detection, which identifies when tracking data is submitted from outside North America, and IP masking detection, which alerts brokers if location updates come from VPNs, hosting servers, or proxies. The toolkit also includes VOIP phone number detection to flag potential identity masking attempts using easily changeable phone numbers.

Other tools include: a custom carrier network that allows brokers to validate carriers and control who can access their loads; proactive location verification that releases pickup numbers only after tracking begins; and geotagged document scanning to ensure documents are scanned in the correct location and at the right time.

Trucker Tools says it blocks 247,000 location updates on average outside of North America and identifies 5,420 VOIP numbers per month. The fraud alerts can be integrated into a broker’s TMS for seamless workflow management, with notifications sent via email and updates visible in the Load Track portal.
