Following its August acquisition of 113 hydrogen fuel cell trucks, spare parts, software platforms and IP assets from Nikola’s bankruptcy auction, Hyroad Energy is now broadening its service offerings to support the full hydrogen trucking ecosystem by adding new services and building out its refueling network.

The Texas-based company — which originally launched with a truck-as-a-service model, combining vehicles, refueling infrastructure, hydrogen supply and financing — will now add maintenance, software, repair services, and parts supply to its offerings, aimed at both existing Nikola truck owners and new hydrogen adopters.

“For hydrogen trucks to truly deliver on their promise, the entire ecosystem has to work, not just the vehicles,” said Dmitry Serov, CEO and founder of Hyroad Energy, in a news release. “Fleet operators who made early investments in hydrogen deserve reliable, long-term support, and new adopters deserve proper support at every step of their journey. By expanding our services to include maintenance, software, and parts supply, we’re ensuring that hydrogen trucks can operate at peak performance while building the foundation for sustainable market growth.”

The expansion also includes the build-out of Hyroad’s refueling network across Texas and California. The company says that by aggregating demand across a larger customer base, it can offer more competitive fuel pricing and ensure a consistent hydrogen supply. Multiple refueling stations are under development along key freight corridors, according to the release.

Hyroad has also added engineering, software and truck-maintenance teams, including former Nikola employees. The company says it plans further hiring across truck and service operations, service and digital products.
