Abilene Motor Express operations to transition into Swift Transportation
Abilene Motor Express will integrate into parent company Swift Transportation’s operations later this month as part of an effort to streamline the business and improve efficiency, the company announced.
The Virginia-based carrier will continue operating through Tuesday, Jan. 27, while resources and operations transition fully under the Swift business, said Larry Johnson, president of Abilene Motor Express, in a LinkedIn post.
“Abilene drivers will transition to Swift and will receive clear guidance and ongoing support throughout the process,” he wrote.

“We thank Abilene team members for their years of dedication and look forward to welcoming those joining the Swift family.”
Swift acquired Abilene Motor Express in 2018.
