JOPLIN, MO – North American truckload carrier CFI has appointed Bill Carter to the brand-new position of vice president of logistics, while also appointing Shepard Dunn as vice president of sales. These positions will report to Tim Staroba, CFI president.

Carter, former Chief Operating Officer of Hill Brothers Logistics, joined CFI this month with his 30 years of transportation experience. Carter was responsible for expanding freight management and logistic business for Werner, CRST, BirdDog and Hill Brothers Logistics.

“Bill has the requisite expertise and CFI has the necessary assets and business elements to create a more robust portfolio of logistics services,” says Staroba, adding that now is the time to build on their existing logistics capabilities in Mexico across North America.

Dunn joins CFI with experience as the president and Chief Executive Officer of Best Way Express.

To compliment his 20 years in the transportation industry and leadership role with Best Way Express, Dunn was also the chairman of Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) from 2014-2015.

Starting with the company in March, Dunn will lead CFI sales and work closely with Pete Montano, who has taken on the role of national accounts leader.

“Combining Dunn’s vision with Montano’s experience, CFI is enhancing the customer experience to provide the best service in the industry,” says Staroba.
