COMPETITION WATCH: TransForce purchases two more Quebec-based fleets

BOIS-DES-FILION, Que — TransForce Income Fund has announced it intends to acquire Express Golden Eagle Inc. headquartered in Bois-des-Filion, Que.

Express Golden Eagle is a provider of open truckload transport, with a primary focus on international volume between Ontario and Quebec and strategic U.S. locations. Through its subsidiaries, the company operates 175 tractors, 300 open and closed trailers, and generates annual revenue of about $45 million. The company’s core business is the transportation of raw materials and construction materials for a customer base of large corporate clients.

Express Golden Eagle will continue to operate under the leadership of president Serge Lacasse, who will report to Alain Bdard, president and CEO of TransForce Income Fund.
