DOT launches website to celebrate USA’s 250th anniversary
The U.S. Department of Transportation has launched the USDOT Freedom 250 website ahead of the nation’s 250th anniversary.
The website tracks the department’s upcoming commemorative event and celebrates the critical role transportation has played and will continue to play in the growth of the United States.

“2026 isn’t just another year – it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to celebrate 250 years of American greatness. At DOT, that means highlighting how we’ve propelled the nation forward and encouraging families to enjoy all the beautiful places America has to offer. Together we will celebrate how far we’ve come and how much farther we can still go together,” said U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy.
