Event looks to clear the air around marijuana

AYR, ON – DriverCheck will host a forum discussing the challenges of cannabis in the workplace at a time when Canada is preparing to legalize the drug for recreational use.

Marijuana Unwrapped: Don’t Just Roll With It will run from 8 am to 1 pm on Wednesday January 25, at the Teatro Conference Center in Milton, Ontario.

Presentations will cover workplace drug policies, the effects of marijuana on duty to perform safety sensitive roles, and the legal dos and don’t of testing programs. A panel of guests including the day’s speakers and representatives of the Toronto Transit Commission and Northbridge Financial will round out the day.

Speakers include Barbara Butler, a provider of corporate alcohol and drug policies; Dr. Melissa Snider-Adler, DriverCheck’s Chief Medical Review Officer; Norm Keith, a lawyer with Fasken Martineau; Megan MacRae, director – employee relations with the Toronto Transit Commission; and Lynn Cool of Northbridge Financial, who will discuss cannabis-related insurance claims.
