AKRON, OH – Goodyear has opened nominations for its 34th annual Highway Hero Award, recognizing drivers who put themselves in harm’s way to help others.

Past winners have included a driver who rescued a law enforcement officer who was being strangled by a prisoner, and a driver who saved a woman from a gun-wielding attacker.

Nominees must be a full-time driver, live in the U.S. or Canada, and have displayed their heroism in the U.S. or Canada. Their truck must have 12 or more wheels — and they must have been on the job, or on their way to or from work, and in their truck – at the time of the incident. The heroism must have been displayed between November 16, 2015 and November 16, 2016.

Nominations are accepted at www.goodyeartrucktires.com through November 29. The award itself will be presented during the 2017 Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Kentucky.
