Heil Environmental Industries introduced five products for trash and solid waste collection last month.

At an unveiling in Chattanooga, Ten. the company rolled out the PT 1000 mid-range rear loader; PowerTrak Commercial, a top-of-the-line rear loader; PowerLift automated side loader; Python premium automated arm; and MultiPack, a combination automated side loader and manual rear loader.

The MultiPack combines an automated side loader with a manual rear loader in one body. As a primary route vehicle, it lets a driver pick up cans with its automated arm as well as bulky items in the rear hopper. The MultiPack combines the proven Formula 5000 tailgate with the new Python automated arm. The Python automated arm has a lift cycle time of six seconds — up to four seconds faster per stop than other systems, according to Heil.

The PT 1000’s cycle time of 15 seconds, with a reload time of six seconds and a best-in-class 3 cubic-yard hopper. It has the ability to pack up to 1,000 lbs. per cubic yard.

The PowerTrak Commercial features a patent-pending PowerTrak dual-track system that directs more packing force onto the load within the body of the truck, resulting in payloads of more than 1,300 lbs. per cubic yard. It claims the fastest cycle time in its class — 21 seconds — and a 3.64-cubic-yard hopper.

PowerLift, Heil’s first commercial side loader, packs up to 1,200 lbs. per cubic yard of refuse, double as much as competitive models can handle, the company says. Additionally, PowerLift works with all rectangular, steel side-load containers weighing up to 3,000 lbs. Its 30-inch reach lets it get into the tightest spots on commercial routes.
