Manitoba publishes revised truck weight limit map and info guide
WINNIPEG, (May 17, 2005) — Manitoba’s transportation ministry has revised the Truck Weight Limit Map and Information Guide, in an effort to provide industry with greater access to weights and dimensions information.
Manitoba Transportation’s Compliance and Regulatory Services (CRS) is distributing the Truck Weight Limit Map and Information Guide free of charge to industry, with an enhanced distribution strategy aimed at negating the inconvenience of the current system experienced by an industry that is usually “on the road” outside of city limits and/or provincial or state boundaries.
The map should serve the industry as an easy reference guide to basic information about Manitoba highways, ferry crossings, bridge restrictions and clearances, winter roads, weigh station locations and related regulatory requirements such as allowable weights.
The information contained in the map should assist the transportation industry in trip planning and in ensuring compliance with Manitoba restrictions and standards, the ministry says. More detailed information or clarification can be obtained by contacting the department through the contact numbers listed on the map.
The revised copy of the map is available at: weigh stations; compliance services; permit services; regional and sub-regional offices; Manitoba transportation website www.gov.mb.ca/tgs/transreg/compreg.
