66 Highway Problems in Canada

OTTAWA — Touching on items ranging from the ring road around Medicine Hat to the badly needed upgrade of Highway 1 that joins Langley and Hope, BC, the Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) has pointed out a full 66 areas of national infrastructure that need attention now.

The coast-to-coast to-do list was compiled as CTA aims to help the Federal Government set spending priorities and improve transportation and trade efficiencies. The province-by-province breakdown was compiled with the help of provincial and regional trucking associations across the country.

“The companies that make up the 4,500-carrier [Canadian Trucking ] Alliance fully understand that federal budgets will continue to be constrained heading into 2012 and that some tough decisions will need to be made,” says CTA President David Bradley.

“However, because they’re out on the highways every day, truckers arguably have the clearest view of where efficiencies can be found and where infrastructure improvements would make the most sense."

Here’s the list. Do you agree with the priorities? Let todaystrucking.com know.
