TORONTO, ON — Need to convince your boss to let you go to more seminars? The Toronto Trucking Association plans a presentation that might help with that.

Jason Lapidus of Lapidus Communications will offer a presentation on negotiating skills during a January 25 luncheon by the group. The focus will be on how to reach an agreement without jeopardizing business or personal relations.

Topics will include conflict resolution, with an introduction to the Thomas-Kilman type indicator, finding strategies to resolve conflicts, and strategies for successful negotiations. Also covered will be principled negotiation, focusing on the weaknesses of positional bargaining, a breakdown of principled negotiations, and how to apply them for mutual benefit.
