New unitized hub system from Hendrickson
Hendrickson International
Offered on INTRAAX system for primaries and VANTRAAX for vans and slider applications, the new Hendrickson Unitized System (HUS) hub is a new trailer running gear that combines SKF LUNAR hub technology and the company’s patented neutral-toe axle and a new journal spindle design.
Individually precision ground to control the bearing adjustment to within plus or minus .OO1-in., HUS hub units provide a high-clamp load across the inner rings ensuring bearing clearance and seal position are maintained even during vehicle cornering, the company says, adding that when this level of clearance control is introduced, operators may expect an increase of three or four times in bearing life. Hendrickson maintains that when the clearance, cleanliness and sealing and bearing design are all addressed as part of a total system, it is possible for bearings to last the life of the trailer.
HUS is offered on 23,000- and 25,000-lb. capacity INTRAAX primaries and 40,000-, 50,000- and 46,000-lb. capacity V ANTRAAX slider systems.
