MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — PeopleNet has added Shipper View to its fleet management program a feature that allows shippers to view fleet location information over the Internet.

Customers can log into the PeopleNet fleet manager interface to verify fleet location in real-time, and now they can give a password to shippers which enables them to also view the secure information online. Other members of the supply chain can also be granted access to the information.

Some of the information available through Shipper View includes a map displaying fleet information including location, proximity to a pre-defined landmark as well as arrival/departure information.

"Visibility across the supply chain is becoming more important to our customers, and we’re pleased to offer a solution to address this growing need," said Brian McLaughlin, PeopleNet’s vice-president of marketing. "Feedback from key members of our product advisory panel, including Coastal Pacific Xpress, Dana Suttles and Sherwin-Williams, was influential in the development of this feature. Using PeopleNet’s open platform, we have quickly made available a solution that will help fleets provide better customer service and automate communication and processes across the supply chain."

There’s no extra charge for the service to PeopleNet’s customers. For details, call 888-208-8110.
