Shell Rotella trailer, websites offer new oil info

by Today's Trucking Staff

LOUISVILLE, KY – Shell Rotella is bringing its traveling road show to Canada, and the tractor-trailer promoting the next category of engine oils is not the only source of related information.

An educational website at www.whatisPC11.com has been updated to include more facts about the fuel-saving oils, and can be reached by asking a similar question about the underlying CK-4 and FA-4 designations. The www.whatisCK4.com and www.whatisFA4.com URLs will take visitors to the same place.

Information on the site has been expanded to include a technical white paper, infographics and videos.

The easy-flowing oil formulas will help equipment manufacturers meet government standards looking to lower Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions. This is achieved by burning less fuel, and that’s where oil viscosity makes a difference. One version of the oil (FA-4) will be formulated for new engines, and another (CK-4) will be for engines built to meet emission standards that are in place today or earlier.

The new oil categories should be on the market by late 2016.

Schedules for the Canadian tour will be shared as they are made available.
