CALGARY, Alta. — Totran Transportation Services has appointed Rosemary Marr as its new CEO, effective Nov. 1.

Marr has more than 30 years of transportation experience, founding Transera in 1985 before selling it to U.S.-based C.H. Robinson in 2008. Her achievements include the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Rothman’s Canadian Woman Entrepreneur of the Year, and the Pinnacle Award.

Founded six years ago, Totran has been named one of Canada’s 200 fastest growing companies for 2012 by Profit magazine. Company president Rob Miller says he is enthusiastic about the change and feels Marr will bring “a fresh enthusiasm and momentum to the team.”

“I look forward to bringing my capabilities to Totran Transportation to help support the operational team and enhance growth strategies that fit with their fundamental strengths. This is a hugely successful team, and am honored to join such talented individuals,” Marr said.
