Trucking Announcements: OOIDA helps veterans; Fleet Advantage welcomes Van Ahn; Whiting joins Vipar

This week, Fleet Advantage announced that Todd Van Ahn joined the company as its new remarketing sales manager, and OOIDA delivered a monetary donation and supplies to the Kansas City Veterans Community Project. Vipar Heavy Duty has hired Jeremy Whiting as director of business development.

OOIDA donates $10,000, supplies to veterans in Kansas City

The Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association announced it donated $10,000, three brand new recliners and pantry supplies to the Kansas City Veterans Community Project, supporting its Tiny Homes campus for veterans.

The contribution was made as part of the Truckers for Troops program and funded through donations from OOIDA’s members.

Truckers for Troops is a fundraising initiative organized by OOIDA in 2007 to send care packages to deployed service personnel stationed in combat zones. The initiative also helps veteran facilities across the United States, including those supporting wounded, disabled and homeless veterans.

Vipar appoints director of business development

Vipar Heavy Duty has hired Jeremy Whiting as director of business development, supporting distributor territories across the East Coast and Southeast. He succeeds Dick Croft, who will retire Jan. 31, 2026, after serving as director of business development since 2001.

Whiting, began his career as an account manager at J.B. Hunt, has more than 15 years of experience in the heavy-duty aftermarket. He most recently served as regional sales manager at driveline supplier Neapco, where he managed distributor relationships and revenue operations across the East Coast and Southeast U.S.

Earlier in his career, Whiting worked in his family’s business, Brookline Machine Company. During his tenure there, he progressed from inside sales and shop operations to operations manager, managing $3 million in inventory across five branch locations in four states. He also led the development and rollout of the company’s first e-commerce platform.

Fleet Advantage appoints remarketing sales manager

Fleet Advantage has welcomed Todd Van Ahn as remarketing sales manager.

In the role, Van Ahn will lead Fleet Advantage’s remarketing department, managing inventory flow, asset shipment and dealer relationships. His responsibilities include approving sales, advising on deal structures, aligning pricing strategies, and while also handling advertising initiatives and collaborating with the company’s marketing department to support remarketing efforts.

He will also work closely with financial institutions on asset valuation, residual value forecasting and market analysis, supporting lease structuring and risk management efforts.

Van Ahn brings more than 25 years of experience in the trucking and fleet management industry, having held senior leadership roles across truck, trailer and heavy equipment sales across freight, construction, and other industries. Most recently, he served as regional new and used sales manager at Nextran Truck Centers, where he was responsible for improving performance at Mack and Volvo dealerships in Denver, Grand Junction, Colo., and Cheyenne, Wyo.

Before that, Van Ahn was regional manager at Pride Truck Sales, where he built and managed new dealerships across multiple locations, including establishing a fully functioning Kansas City dealership in under 45 days, according to a news release. And in his earlier career, Van Anh held senior leadership positions with Summit Truck Group/Rush Truck Centers, Bruckner’s Truck Sales, MHC Kenworth, Worldwide Equipment and Housby Auctions.

Van Ahn succeeds Francis Maloney, who recruited and trained him and has transitioned into a sales role within the company.
