Volvo Trucks North America will remain the exclusive sponsor of the American Trucking Associations’ (ATA) America’s Road Team through 2026, marking 24 consecutive years of support for the highway safety outreach program.

The renewal was announced during the ATA Management Conference & Exhibition in San Diego, Calif., underscoring Volvo’s continued commitment to promoting road safety, the company said in a news release.

Volvo supports the program with a new Volvo VNL 860 tractor used to haul ATA’s Interstate One mobile classroom to events nationwide. The truck features the manufacturer’s latest suite of digital and mechanical safety systems, including advanced driver assistance and occupant protection technologies designed to safeguard lives and mitigate the risk of serious injuries in the event of an accident.

Every two years, ATA names a new class of America’s Road Team Captains — drivers chosen for their outstanding safety records and commitment to the industry. These Captains, who have collectively driven millions of accident-free miles, act as ambassadors at events such as White House visits, state capitals, motorcycle rallies, career fairs, schools, and educational conferences. They also host ridealongs for policymakers and media to promote a greater understanding of trucking operations.

“America’s Road Team Captains play an essential role in advancing safety and professionalism across the industry,” said Peter Voorhoeve, president of Volvo Trucks North America, in a news release. “Through their ongoing work in communities, classrooms, and legislative halls, they help bridge understanding between truck drivers and the communities they serve, inspiring respect for the work that keeps our economy moving. We are honored to have them driving the all-new Volvo VNL.”

Established by ATA in 1986, America’s Road Team promotes the role of professional drivers in maintaining road safety and sustaining the economy. Volvo has served as the program’s sole sponsor since 2002.
