The Washington state Department of Transportation is making $112 million in voucher incentives available to businesses and fleets to transition to cleaner vehicles.

The Washington Zero-Emission Incentive Program (WAZIP) will officially launch in April to help lower upfront purchase prices for heavy-and medium-duty equipment, including trucks, construction vehicles, freight-handling equipment, and charging stations.

The $112 million in voucher incentives is being made available through the state’s Climate Commitment Act. Small businesses are eligible for enhanced incentives.

“We’re accelerating the switch to zero-emission vehicles by helping businesses afford new equipment that will benefit them for years to come,” said Secretary of Transportation Julie Meredith.

The list of eligible vehicles and equipment will be announced online in March.
