Work begins on busy Mississauga interchange

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Work is finally under way on the Hwy. 401-Mississauga Rd. interchange.

The project was announced nearly a year ago, but just this week Ontario Transportation Minister Brad Clark and Peel Chairman Emil Kolb gave the nod to get started on the $18.6 million project.

The joint partnership will see construction take place over 18 months. About 100,000 vehicles pass by the interchange each day and it’s a notorious location for congestion.

"This project, in one of our key trade corridors, will ensure the effective movement of people and goods through Peel Region and will benefit the provincial economy," says Clark.
