GREENSBORO, NC – Mechanics and technicians across North America have begun the first round of a skills competition that will culminate with a winner being crowned in June.

Mack Trucks has created the Mack Masters Competition to give its dealership employees an opportunity to show off their skills in three separate areas: products, systems and diagnostics. Specifically, they will have to demonstrate knowledge related to parts, service, warranty and technology. Contestants will be required to work in teams and will have to demonstrate their knowledge of Mack systems and procedures by answering questions, completing tasks, and researching and solving problems related to every aspect of the service experience.

In total, there are 991 participants divided into 263 teams, representing 171 Mack dealers. Teams in five regions—Canada, Central, Northeast, Southeast and West—will compete in two rounds of online challenges through March 2015. The final round will consist of one team from each region competing in a real-time, on-site test at the Aftermarket & Soft Products UPTIME conference in Dallas, Texas on June 16.
