Manac acquires trailer manufacturer
VILLE DE SAINT-GEORGES, Que. — Manac has purchased the assets of semi-trailer manufacturer CPS Trailer of Oran, Missouri in an effort to expand into the U.S. market.
Acquired at a cost of US$4.5 million, it will become Manac’s first U.S. plant. The purchase not only includes CPS’ 115,000 sq.ft. plant, but also raw material and finished products.
CPS annually produces up to 800 bottom dump trailers and specialty semi-trailers.
“The acquisition of CPS Trailer demonstrates the company’s determination to increase its presence in the specialized product market in North America,” says Manac president, Charles Dutil. “This acquisition complements and expands out existing product line and allows us excellent access to markets in the U.S. southwest through its network of more than 40 independent distributors.”
