ATLANTA, Ga. — The expanding Work Truck Show, hosted by the National Truck Equipment Association, attracted more than 7,200 people last month.

This year’s show was held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. It consisted of a trade show, convention and educational seminars with a special focus on hybrid trucks and alternative fuels.

Attendees included fleet managers, truck equipment distributors and upfitters, manufacturers and truck dealers. Organizers pointed out nearly 90% of fleet representatives had final purchasing authority, making it an important show for industry suppliers.

There were a record 538 exhibitors at the show, which covered more than 450,000 sq.-ft. of floor space.

“The Work Truck Show 2008 was a great success,” says Jim Carney, NTEA executive director. “The size and scope of the show floor, cutting-edge educational sessions and new product and technology launches were unmatched. It is a testament to the effectiveness of the event that demand for exhibit space at the Work Truck Show 2009 is incredibly high. The Association is working hard to try to accommodate all the requests for booth space at next year’s show.”

Organizers say exhibit space is already rapidly selling for the Work Truck Show 2009 which will be held March 4-6 in Chicago.

Online registration for The Work Truck Show 2009 and 45th Annual NTEA Convention opens at www.ntea.com in September.
