PARS forms need date, time info
OTTAWA, Ont. – Carriers using the Pre-Arrival Review System (PARS) will have to advise Canada Customs about the date and time goods will arrive at their location, in a change that will become effective on July 30.
The move is to establish if the release requests are presented within pre-determined time frames, and to help in inspections of selected goods.
Details of the requirements are outlined in Customs Notice N-306, issued on Jan. 25.
The information should be printed within the Location of Goods field on the cargo control document, or in a clearly visible area on a form that doesn’t have such a field.
At the very least, it has to be shown on a document issued at the same time – such as the fax cover sheet generated on a PARS request. n
