Purolator honors Ayr, Seaboard
TORONTO, ON – Purolator has named recipients of its 2015 Carrier of the Year Award, with Ayr Motor Express named Long Haul Carrier of the Year, and Seaboard Transport named Short Haul Carrier of the Year. It’s the second consecutive win for Ayr Motor Express.
“Our annual Carrier of the Year Award publicly recognizes top-performing linehaul carriers that reflect Purolator’s corporate values and help us successfully deliver our customers’ promises,” said Joe Lombardo, Purolator’s director – transportation.
The honors, introduced in 1996, evaluate carriers on factors including on-time performance, peak-season performance and green initiatives, as well as carrier fitness initiatives that focus on fuel-efficiency, cost reductions, contingency plans, and continuous improvement.
Purolator’s linehaul carriers move about 35% of its customers’ daily freight.
“This is something our team is very excited and extremely proud to be a part of. It’s also a testament to the hard work and superior service our dedicated drivers and operations team continue to provide Purolator with to ensure their freight arrives on time,” said Seth Keenan, Ayr Motor Express director – operations.
Added Mark Shannon, president and Chief Operating Officer of Seaboard Transport: “We appreciate the good work our drivers, owner-operators and logistics personnel do every day for Purolator, and receiving this award confirms the dedication and commitment they have toward customer service.”
