US fleets planning to ramp up truck and trailer purchases: Report

by Truck News

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Fleets may be looking to ramp up their Class 8 truck and trailer orders in the second quarter, according to a Fleet Sentiment Report published by CK Commercial Vehicle Research.

Calculated units for orders planned in the next three months by the group reporting for the Q2 Fleet Sentiment Report showed an increase from Q1 activity, according to the report.

US fleets that took the survey indicated freight is plentiful and they’d like to add more trucks in the current environment but a lack of quality drivers remains an issue.

Asked “how’s business?” the responding fleets scored it a 4.17 on a scale of one to five.
