Total announces CK-4, CJ-4 engine oil line

by Truck News

LASALLE, Que. – Total Canada has announced the launch of its new Rubia Optima heavy-duty engine oils, engineered to the new API CK-4 and FA-4 specifications.

The new Rubia Optima range is designed for heavy-duty engines and complies with the new standard that will take effect in December.

“Thanks to its complex formulations, the Rubia Optima range provides better engine protection and an unparalleled level of performance,” Total Canada announced in a release. “Total Rubia Optima will help limit carbon dioxide emissions while improving the engine’s fuel consumption and allowing the longest oil drain intervals authorized by manufacturers thanks to improved oxidation resistance.”

The company says its new CK-4 and FA-4 oils surpass the API requirements. CK-4 will be compatible with existing and older engines. The complete range of the new oils will be announced next month, Total says.
