BOUCHERVILLE, Que. – The Canam Manac Group, corporate parent of Manac semitrailers, posted sales of more than $1 billion for fiscal 2000.

The trailer division beat the downturn in the trucking industry, maintaining profitability during each quarter throughout the year, the company says.

In the semitrailer division, Manac’s sales declined slightly, from $260 million in 1999 to $252 million in 2000.

However, due to the slipping North American market, net income held at more than $7 million. Manac made 7,852 semitrailers in 2000 compared with 8,119 in 1999. n
