4Refuel hires biofuels expert

LANGLEY, B.C. – The Canadian fuel industry enjoyed a breath of fresh air recently, when 4Refuel, a national on-site refuelling company, announced the creation of a new position in the industry: director of clean air solutions.

Ken Fryer has been appointed to the new position, bringing with him an extensive background in biodiesel.

Fryer is currently the only Canadian qualified to certify biodiesel producers and marketers for the highest level of quality, BQ9000, and is one of only 10 BQ9000 auditors in the world.

Fryer also conducts quality audits for the National Biodiesel Board, assisting governments and corporations implement biodiesel processes designed after the ISO 9001 quality programs.

“Now we have Canada’s leading expert on staff. Someone who is responsible for finding the best solutions for our clients to reduce operating costs, cut toxic emissions and clean up the air,” said 4Refuel CEO, Jack Lee.

Fryer pioneered the introduction of biodiesel to the British Columbia marketplace when he served as fleet manager for the City of Richmond.

He is a prominent speaker at conferences for alternative fuels and a regular guest at industry and association meetings on biodiesel.

“At 4Refuel, Ken will focus on product and systems quality for 4Refuel’s rapidly-growing base of government and corporate biodiesel clients. His product knowledge and expertise will fast-track 4Refuel’s national biodiesel plans in areas of infrastructure, supply and distribution as well as training and educating staff and clients,” Lee said.

“Biodiesel is an inexpensive way to make a huge impact by reducing pollutants and make a bold corporate statement,” Fryer said.

4Refuel is the country’s largest on-site refuelling company working to minimize the cost of refuelling vehicles and equipment and maximize overall fuel efficiency, the company reports.
