Red Dot has gathered an assortment of connector bodies, receptacles, plug assemblies, housings, terminals, seals and locks, into the neatly organized Electrical Connector Assembly Kit. The kit provides technicians all the components necessary to create electrical assemblies that look, feel and perform like the sealed OE connector. The HoodXpress from the Litens Automotive Group is a power assisted hood control device for Class 8 trucks. Activated by a remote key-fob, the operator can control full raising or lowering of the hood for maintenance, daily inspections and service. The HoodXpress has different tractor-specific designs and attaches to the frame without drilling or welding. The unit is designed to withstand wind gusts when open and locks when in a closed position. The device is also outfitted with a manual override option. NRI Industries has developed the Load-Grip friction mat to help carriers ensure full compliance with cargo securement laws. Load-Grip friction mats are manufactured from fiber reinforced masticated rubber to provide strong tear and stretch resistance. All anti-skid mats used in conjunction with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance must meet the required minimum coefficient of friction 0.8g. The Load-Grip is a recognized load restraint device by the DOT and each mat comes with a yellow colour band for quick and easy identification by highway inspectors. The ComfortGuard APU from Cummins is the engine manufacturer’s first complete auxiliary power unit system for over-the-road trucks. The ComfortGuard’s space-saving A/C system fits beneath the sleeper berth and has a 12,000 BTU capacity. The 4,000/8,000 BTU, two-stage electric heating element provides comfort in cold weather. Both heating and cooling are controlled by a thermostat similar to the ones found in most homes. The ComfortGuard Cab Air APU system can be programmed to start automatically based on thermostat settings or time of day.

Chain-Up Champ is a simple tool that aims to make installing tire chains fast and easy. The bar is positioned through the wheel’s hub and one end of the tire chains are hooked to the device. By driving forward, the tire chains are pulled around the wheel. The driver then just attaches the ends and removes the Chain-Up Champ from the hub. The POWERteck recharges the batteries or activates the engine heater by constantly monitoring outside temperature and battery voltage. KBi/Kold-Ban International recently developed the DIESELMATIC NVT, a new technologically advanced Starting Fluid System. The system is used as an aid to initiate the combustion process in a diesel engine during starting and immediately thereafter, for fast, reliable starts at -32 C (-25 F) and colder, to help eliminate white smoke, cut down on engine vibration during startup, and to reduce crankcase lube oil dilution from un-burnt fuel. The Cole Hersee Company has developed a Recessed Toggle Switch for trucking applications to help prevent accidental actuation by a driver, or by personnel loading or unloading cargo. The Recessed Toggle Switch is comprised of a standard toggle switch centered at the bottom of a plated steel bowl.
