Phillips Industries has introduced a low-profile, compact Swinger Gladhand designed for intermodal fleets and those pulling piggyback trailers. When the Swinger Gladhand is disconnected, it swings closed to a sealed position to prevent contaminants from entering the air system. The upper portion of the Swinger Gladhand rotates 180-degrees on a durable nylon glide ring, while the lower portion remains still allowing the air line to remain immobile. Redtech has developed a unit which combines the features of a low voltage disconnect and a battery isolator. PROteckTION is a patent-pending product aimed at ensuring a truck will always start. PROteckTION allows the use of two different battery banks, with as many as four batteries per bank, and makes possible the recharge of all batteries (up to eight) with the truck’s standard 135-amp alternator. An intelligent controller also monitors the recharge of each bank separately in order to optimize the work done by the alternator. More information can be found at www.redtech.ca.

Behr America has developed an improved exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler that adheres to the latest emissions standards for heavy trucks. The EGR cooler works by cooling the exhaust gases that go back into the engine through the intake manifold. Behr’s EGR cooler was redesigned to double the recirculation rate of cooled exhaust. The cooler will now have an increased power density, pressure strength and resistance to vibrations. Additional information can be found at www.behrgroup.com.
