APTA Heading to the Island

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – The Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association is going to be hosting its 54th annual convention at the Delta Prince Edward hotel in Charlottetown, P.E.I. Oct. 28 to Oct. 30.

This year’s roster of events will include a Canadian Trucking Alliance issues update with CEO David Bradley, a talk on best practices in labour standards by Charles Landry, labour affairs officer with the Federal Labour Program, the association’s and subcommittees’ annual general meetings and of course the annual lobster fest.

In addition, five awards will be presented at the convention’s Friday business luncheon – the Service to Industry Award, Driver of the year Award, Good Samaritan Award, Dispatcher of the Year Award and the Safety to Motor Transportation Award.

The Associated Trades Council for the APTA will hold its annual casino evening with an Oktoberfest theme.

Several surprise entertainers, business sessions and speakers will also be featured throughout the convention promise organizers.
