TRURO, N.S. – Over 400 drivers turned up for the Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association’s (APTA) annual Driver Appreciation Day at the Truro Heights Irving Sept. 9.

And the Newfoundland and Labrador Carriers Association, in collaboration with the APTA, saw about 200 drivers at their Driver Appreciation Day also held Sept. 9, at Donovan’s Irving in Mount Pearl, Nfld.

Thanks to the many generous sponsors that donated prizes, every driver that came through walked away with a hat, shirt, jacket, or truck accessory.

Each driver also received a goody bag filled with lots of information on trucking, a pen, lapel pins and other donated prizes. The APTA provided fruit juices, muffins and water for the drivers and had a nurse on hand for free blood pressure and blood sugar tests.
