ArvinMeritor has begun production of Raydan’s Air Link suspension at the company’s Monterrey, Mexico plant.

Initial production is aimed at meeting commitments to Mack and International Trucks, but the company said it will ramp up production to include new business generated by Raydan and ArvinMeritor.

The launch of production signals the start of a long-term relationship between Raydan and ArvinMeritor. Under the agreement, ArvinMeritor is licensed to market, engineer and manufacture Raydan’s Air Link suspension up to and including 52,000 lb gross axle tandem weights.

Raydan itself will continue manufacturing and marketing Air Link suspensions with higher gross vehicle weights.

“We expect ArvinMeritor’s production and marketing capabilities to increase sales of the Air Link,” said Ray English, president and CEO of Raydan. “By moving production out of Raydan, we can effectively use our manufacturing space to generate new business and also reduce our foreign exchange exposure.”
