PENTICTON, B.C. – The B.C. Trucking Association (BCTA) is hosting its annual general meeting and management conference at the Penticton Lakeside Resort June 3-5.
The association says the venue has a beautiful lakeside convention centre and casino which is situated on the shores of Okanagan Lake. Things get underway June 3 with the Best Ball Golf Tournament at 12 p.m. The course includes lush fairways and well-maintained greens, the BCTA says. Registration opens at noon with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. That evening is ‘Sports Night’ which will feature pub-style food and cold beer.
June 4 will be the AGM breakfast and election of directors. Presentations will also be made to BCTA Honourary Life Members and Long Service Members. Later that morning, Dr. Rolyn Kunin will present on ‘Employment and Labour Market Issues.’ The BCTA says the economist presents economics, the future and the labour market in an interesting manner.
At lunch, Dr. Tim Ball will speak on ‘Climate Change, Global Warming and the Kyoto Protocol.’ Ball will examine common misperceptions regarding climate change and tackle myths with sensitivity and humour. The evening of June 4 will include a sponsored banquet reception and dance. For information call the BCTA at 604-888-5319.
