Transportation Media Research, our research division, has just launched its third annual Transportation Buying Trends Survey. The national survey, conducted in partnership with the Canadian Industrial Transportation Association and the Canadian Institute of Traffic and Transportation, seeks the input of shippers across the country to gather annual data on key statistics such as projected shipment volumes and inventories by industry; carrier rate increases and surcharge penetration by mode; capacity concerns; length of contracts and much more.

Transportation Media Research also just wrapped up its annual Canadian Third Party Logistics Survey, detailing supply chain outsourcing practices. That survey, sponsored by Ryder Canada, is conducted in partnership with The Logistics Institute and Supply Chain & Logistics Canada.

Managing editor Julia Kuzeljevich was recently a guest on the Road Dog show with Sirius satellite radio speaking about trends in the Canadian trucking industry.

Editorial director Lou Smyrlis is moderating a panel session at the upcoming 20th Annual Transportation Innovation and Cost Savings Conference and is scheduled to lead the opening session on global logistics and the impact on Canadian infrastructure at CITT’s annual conference in Saint John, New Brunswick. He has also been invited to speak on industry trends at Centennial College.
