Behind the headlines (July 01, 2005)

TORONTO, Ont. – Transportation Media staff received two Top Five awards and one Top Ten award for their feature writing at the recent Kenneth R. Wilson Awards.

The Kenneth R. Wilson Awards, put on by the Canadian Business Press, are considered the most prestigious in the business magazine media.

Truck West editor James Menzies finished among the top five Best Resource or Infrastructure Articles for his feature “Free Fuel,” which examining fuel issues. Menzies also had another article, “Can a simple formula prevent rollovers,” which he wrote for Truck News, finish in the top 10.

Motortruck and Canadian Transportation & Logistics managing editor Julia Kuzeljevich also finished in the top five for her feature, “Stop right there,” in the Best Industrial and/or Manufacturing Article category.

The feature, which ran in Canadian Transportation & Logistics, detailed the latest border security issues.

And last, but not least, Truck News Executive Editor Ingrid Phaneuf’s news story, “Trucker or Terrorist?” finished in the top 10 for news coverage. Phaneuf also won a Truck Writers of North America award in March.
