The editors of Transportation Media, along with the editors of parent company Business Information Group, collaborated last month to produce a comprehensive report on the impact of Hurricane Katrina on Canadian industry.

The electronic report included in-depth impact analysis for more than 20 Canadian industries, providing excellent insights into Katrina’s potential impact on trucking companies, their customers and suppliers. More than 25 editors across Canada were involved in the project. The report was sent to Business Information Group’s extensive list of e-mail subscribers and is also now available in its entirety on www.trucknews.com.

The Katrina online supplement marked a milestone in our evolution towards becoming an integrated media services business capable of distributing information in multiple formats and multiple frequencies.

In other news, editorial director Lou Smyrlis addressed Cancom’s annual users conference in August, elaborating on our latest research on shipper buying trends. In September, Smyrlis was in Halifax and Ottawa to moderate panel discussions on infrastructure concerns.
